Gods & Monsters Revealed by Ubisoft at E3 2019 Presentation

Gods & Monsters

Ubisoft has revealed a brand new game from the creators of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey called Gods & Monsters and it looks amazing. The short reveal trailer does not show a lot of details about the title at this point however it does a pretty good job to show us what sort of game it is going to be.

From the trailer, we can see that the game features a very unique art style. The main idea behind the game is to make Homeric stories and the Greek myths accessible to everyone. According to the creative director, Dumont, the idea behind this game came to them when they could not fit everything in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey so they decided to make a new game dedicated to this very concept.

The game will follow the story of a courageous Greek hero named Phoenix and he has a task to help the Olympians save their Island of the Blessed which requires getting rid of the Typhon and his minions. Typhon resides in the Underworld so players will need to travel to the Underworld and overcome all the challenges that lie in the path.

Gods & Monsters offers a free roam world and players will be able to explore it all. However, choosing to explore certain environments are all dependant on the player’s skill as they have the option to explore everything but are they capable of exploring a certain area or not depends on entirely them.

Players will find the combat mechanics somewhat similar to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey since the team behind Gods & Monsters is also the same however some added mechanics are in place here such as the abilities to double jump and use a glider. There is also an uppercut move here which will help Phoenix get up and close to the monsters to attack them

Gods & Monsters is slated for release on PS4, PC and Xbox One, Stadia and Nintendo Switch on February 25, 2020.
