Google has revealed a complete rebrand for the G Suite and it will now be called Google Workplace. This rebranding falls in line with the rebranding strategy Google has recently started off with Google Play Movies & TV which is now known as Google TV. In the recent announcement, Google has revealed the complete overhaul if G Suite and now it will be called Google Workspace.
Google Workspace further unifies Gmail, Meet, and Chat, while adding new features for remote collaboration. Google is also bringing new identities to services such as Gmail, Drive, Calendar, and Meet apps. All have received new icons made up of the four colors that have been the brand’s identity for quite a while now.
Google Workspace is another step by Google in the company’s recent identity overhaul. Javier Soltero, Vice President and General Manager of Google Workspace said the following in the Official Statement.
This is the end of the ‘office’ as we know it. From here on out, teams need to thrive without meeting in person, protect their time to focus on the most impactful work, and build human connection in new ways. Google Workspace gives people a familiar, fully integrated user experience that helps everyone succeed in this new reality – whether you’re in an office, working from home, on the frontlines, or engaging with customers.
Google’s Workspace will serve as a single hub for all the communication and collaboration tools like Gmail, Chat, Meet, Docs, Sheets, and Slides. Google Workspace will now also allow its users to preview the content of any link without having to leave the original document with the new linked previews feature in Docs, Sheets, as well as in Slides.

Google Workplace will be available to all business customers starting today. In the coming months, Google is planning on rolling Workspace to consumers as well. The new logos for Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Meet, Docs, Sheets, and Slides are expected to start rolling out in the coming months.
