Developer and publisher Creepy Jar has announced the next-gen launch of their iconic survival game Green Hell. Green Hell has made its way to the Xbox Series X|S and PS5 completing the console release for the game. With over six million copies sold since its initial launch, the developers are thrilled to announce that players can now experience the game on current-gen consoles with enhancements and content previously exclusive to the PC version. For those who already own the game on last-gen consoles, this new version is available as a free upgrade.

Priced at $24.99, with a 20% discount for the first two weeks, the next-gen versions of Green Hell come packed with updates #17 – Storage & Transportation, #18 – Fortifications, and #19 – Flamekeeper. These updates bring new features and improvements, ensuring an even more immersive experience for you as you navigate the treacherous environment of the Amazon rainforest. This version also introduces challenges with wild animals, hostile tribes, and the numerous dangers of the jungle and is the most complete release for consoles to date.

With the arrival of Green Hell on the Xbox Series X|S and PS5 consoles, it means that the Xbox One and PS4 versions will no longer receive any further updates or content. The developers detail that this decision was made to ensure the highest quality of gameplay on current-gen consoles, as older consoles are unable to handle the latest updates without compromising on performance and visual fidelity.

With the move to the newer platforms, there are some limitations that players need to be aware of. The Xbox Series X|S and PS5 versions of Green Hell are not compatible with the Xbox One and PS4 versions. This means that players will not be able to engage in crossplay or transfer save files between different generations of consoles. This is because the current-gen consoles feature additional content which is not present on the previous-gen consoles.

With this release, however, Creepy Jar is not done with the game and will continue to bring more content to the title in the future as well. As of now, Green Hell is available on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and VR platforms. Incuvo managed the VR release of the title. There is also a board game adaptation of Green Hell which was funded on Kickstarter in less than 8 hours.
