GRID Autosport is releasing next week on Nintendo Switch and Feral Interactive has released a new gameplay video of the game in action on the portable console. The new trailer goes in detail on all the five different types of racing disciplines that players will be able to master in GRID Autosport when it comes out.
Starting with the Touring Events, this discipline demands bumper to bumper action as the cars are set up exactly for this very purpose. They are extremely aggressive, agile and nimble making them perfect for those tight squeezes and close circuit racing. Endurance Events will test your mental strength and stamina in extended races. You must master these speed demons as well as manage your own wits and be patient to ensure that you emerge first at the first line.
Tuner Events demand extreme precision as well as the need to push your cars to the max. You must also look good while doing so as these events are designed just for that. In Drift events, you will need to master the balance between throttle and brakes to ensure that you are always on your side while Time Attack events will pit you against the time for the fastest lap possible on that specific track.
The Open-Wheel category will demand extreme precision as well because these machine accelerate to their top speed as quickly as they can stop dead in their tracks. They are extremely fast and nimble so you will need to be extra careful as one little mistake and you will end up off the track and into a tire wall. Last, you will have the Street Races which are held on tight and high-speed city circuits from all over the world.
Street Discipline also boasts the biggest rosters of vehicles to choose from as players will get everything from Hot Hatches to 1000+HP Hyper Cars. Each category will offer players a different challenge and they will need to adapt on the go to the vehicle characteristics to come out at the top at the end of the race. Apart from the Career Mode events, players can also jump in some quick events such as Eliminator, Sprint, Drag, and Demolition Derby.
The Nintendo Switch version of GRID Autosport comes with a brand new HD Rumble feature which allows the players to experience each and every bump on the road they drive on. With this mode activated, players can select the strength of the rumble which will ensure that players feel every bump, jump and crash like it is meant to be felt. The Switch version also comes with 3 visual modes which are:
- Graphics Mode – 30fps (highest graphical detail)
- Performance Mode – 60 fps target (medium graphical detail)
- Energy Saver Mode – 30fps (lowest graphical detail)
The game offers a customized difficulty setting where the players can play around and choose to play their very own way. They can choose to turn on or off settings such as Racing Line, number of Flashbacks, AI difficulty, ABS, Stability Control and more. All DLC released for the console versions are also included in the Nintendo Switch version which will offer new tracks and cars to players.
GRID Autosport will be the first proper simulation racing game on the console. Feral also announced that GRID Autosport will initially release as a singleplayer game however a full multiplayer mode is under development and will arrive later in the form of a free update.
Feral will also host an AMA event about GRID Autosport on r/NintendoSwitch at 9 AM PT. Earlier, Feral also revealed the detailed information on all the multiple control styles that players will be able to use on Nintendo Switch. Make sure that you check them out as well.
GRID Autosport is releasing on Nintendo Switch on September 19, 2019.
