Codemasters has announced that they have delayed their upcoming racing game GRID until October 2019. The game was earlier announced to release in September 2019, the title has been pushed further one month. The remaining plans for the game will remain the same including the 3-Day Early Access for players who purchase the Ultimate Edition.
Another important thing to notice here is that GRID is a launch title for Google Stadia, Google’s upcoming premium video game service. The developer states that the main reason behind this one-month delay is because they want to give the game some added exposure until the title is released. GRID is a soft-reboot of the franchise and it is aiming to be the best one in the franchise so far.
Codemasters released a gameplay video for GRID which featured the Chevrolet Corvette C7.R at Brands Hatch Circuit. The game is still in development however it looks amazing in its current state. Visually the game is a lot much better than its previous title GRID: Autosport. The cars look detailed as well however it still feels like an arcade-sim game rather than a full on hardcore sim game.
Some of the cars were also revealed by Codemasters and they range from a wide variety of disciplines. The game features seven unique categories for cars which are Touring, Tuner, Stock, GT, Formula J, Prototypes and Group 7 Specials. Some of the vehicles revealed by Codemasters are:
- Auto Gallery Nissan Skyline GT-R (R32) – Tuner
- Audi RS 3 LMS – Touring
- Chevrolet Camaro SSX Concept – Stock*
- Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Modified – Stock
- Chevrolet Corvette C7.R – GT
