Developer 10 Chambers has announced the launch of Rundown 7.0 Rise for their tactical multiplayer horror shooter GTFO. Rundown 7.0 Rise is the seventh major content update for GTFO, bringing brand-new content to the game. 110 Chambers is a developer comprised of developers behind the games PAYDAY: The Heist and PAYDAY 2. The latest update continues the same Rundown format that sets GTFO apart from any other live service game currently available.
Check out the latest trailer showcasing the Rundown 7.0 below before we jump into additional details:
Instead of just visually changing the game with every season or update, GTFO follows the concept of Rundowns which completely changes the game and its mechanics with every major update. The latest Rundown to arrive in GTFO is called Rise and it is the seventh Rundown to arrive in the game since its early access launch on Steam. It adds ten new expeditions to the game, a new Garden environment, a revamped solo tutorial, and two new terrifying enemies. One of the new enemies comes equipped with tentacles which is a new one for the game.
The latest Rundown’s main focus is the new Garden environment which takes a detour from the traditional dark, and claustrophobic environments of the previous six Rundowns and brings some color with green fauna and blossoms. One of the new enemy types to arrive in the game uses the environment to its fullest as it hides between the greenery and strikes from where you are least expecting it to strike. Even with new colors and content in the game, at its core, it is still a hardcore co-op online horror multiplayer title.
Robin Björkell, Communications Director at 10 Chambers said:
It feels great to deliver one more major update for free to our GTFO community while at the same time being able to invite everyone to try out GTFO during our free weekend on Steam. To make onboarding a bit easier for new Prisoners brave enough to embark down in The Complex, we’ve added a solo tutorial level that will teach you the basic ropes of GTFO. But don’t keep playing solo; it’s still best to play with friends; work together, or die together.
Apart from new content, the Rundown 7.0 also brings many quality-of-life improvements to the game. A single-player tutorial now allows new players to jump into the tutorial and learn about the game and non-English speaking players can now follow up much deeper into the main story of the game which is now extended even further in the latest update. New sound effects, dynamic music system, updated animations, graphical enhancements, and clearer visualization of progression rewards highlight the new update.
With the launch of the free update, 10 Chambers has also announced a free Steam weekend for GTFO. Anyone who wants to try out the game for free on Steam can do so this weekend without paying a dime. Starting today and until June 20, GTFO will be completely free for everyone on Steam. Currently, GTFO is available only on PC via Steam.
