In recent development, it has been revealed that Eric Wolpaw who is the co-writer of Half-Life 2 and Portal is now back working at Valve. Eric had earlier left Valve back in February 2017 along with some other writers.
This was confirmed recently by an email conversation by Gabe Newell which has been out on the social media for quite some time. However, recently Shack News has confirmed that Eric Wolpaw is indeed back in Valve as his name appears in the credits of the card game Artifact that Valve released recently.
This shows that Eric Wolpaw joined Valve at a time when development was still in works and hence his name appears in the credits of the game released last November. When Eric left Valve, he was also accompanied by Marc Laidlaw and Jay Pinkerton who were also writers working for Valve.
Jay Pinkerton is also now back onboard Valve. He joined back in July 2018 so this means that our once shattered hopes for Half-Life 3 are back. Now that both writers are back working in Valve, we are hoping that they will work towards Half-Life 3. At this point we do not know what they are working for the future but we really hope that Half-Life 3 is their next project.
Half-Life is not the only game, Eric worked on. He also worked on Portal and Left 4 Dead which were both amazing titles as well. Both of these franchises are also dead for a long time and no title has been announced for both these franchises for a long time. We would also love to see a new Left 4 Dead title or a new Portal game.
Just like Half-Life, these two amazing franchises need to come back as well. We really hope that with both Eric and Jay back in action, things are set in perspective and a new title from these long-forgotten franchises are announced soon. We are keeping our fingers crossed for it. If you want to check ShackNews report on this, click right here.
