Valve has finally confirmed the release date of its much-awaited Half-Life: Alyx VR game for PC. The game is set to launch on March 23 and will be exclusively available via Steam. The game was previously announced back in November and is going to be the first title in the Half-Life franchise after 13 years.
Despite being a prequel to Half-Life 2, Valve has said that it will be a full-length title that contains a lot of content that can be played for hours at a time. The game will be a full VR experience that will be compatible with all VR headsets that work on a PC. The game is only releasing for PC and there is no confirmation if the game is going to be releasing on other platforms other than the PC.

The announcement trailer released back in November showed us a little of the gameplay and a lot of familiar faces. Take a look at the trailer below:
You play as Alyx Vance and have to fight the common enemy that Alyx and Gordon were fighting against in the Half-Life 2. You get to see most of the famous Half-Life 2 enemies who are part of an alien group called Combine. Valve has talked about the gaming experience saying that it will be the classic Half-Life game where you will explore, solve puzzles and combat the aliens.
Alyx will not only fight with weapons but she is also wearing the Gravity Gloves that allow her to move things or pick them up by pulling them near. Oh, and yes, we do get to see G-Man in the end again with his deep unsettling blue eyes and a slight smirk that he is famously known for. The character is still shrouded in mystery and Valve seems to want to keep it that way.
Just a week after the announcement of Half-Life: Alyx, Valve Index VR headset had sold out in some regions including the US and Canada. One of the reasons for its sudden demand was after Valve announced to give a free copy of the game to anyone having the Valve VR headsets.
