Halo: Infinite Pushed into 2021, New Release Date to be Announced Later

One of the most critical launch titles for Xbox Series X, Halo: Infinite has been delayed into 2021 and this does not bode well for the launch of the console. With the recent announcement of Xbox Series X launching in November 2020, it has lost one of its major exclusive titles which will now release sometime in 2021. A confirmed release date has not been announced at this time.

Halo: Infinite recently got is official gameplay reveal at the recent Xbox Games Showcase event and the title did loot a little dated in terms of its graphics. Fans were quick to notice this and it was later revealed by 343 Industries that it was an old demo being played during the event. The final version is slated to be much better than the demo however we will now have to wait until 2021 to finally play the next-gen version of Halo.

While game delays are common these days thanks to the whole COVID-19 scenario, it is also worth noting here that Halo: Infinite cannot afford the luxury of delaying like other titles. It was a key launch support title for Xbox Series X and now the title is short one major exclusive for its launch. With Halo: Infinite now out of the picture, Microsoft is now back to promoting Xbox Game Pass for complimenting the launch of Xbox Series X with a lot of Series X optimized titles or a big backward compatible library spanning over four generations.

Halo: Infinite is the first major Halo title since the release of Halo: 5 and the release of the Halo: MCC on Xbox One and PC. It is one of the iconic franchises that Xbox console is famous for and follows the journey of Master Chief as he battles Covenant and The Flood for the control of massive rings in space called Halos. The franchise is also well-known for its addictive online and multiplayer features.
