The remastered version of Halo: Reach has just released for PC and it has already become one of the best selling games on Steam. The game is currently sitting comfortably on the third spot of best selling games on Steam.
Over the course of the day and after its launch today, the game overtook big titles like GTA 5, PUBG and Rainbow Six Siege with the number of concurrent players it had.
The game marks the return on PC after 12 years and was the last title in the franchise that was created by Bungie before it moved on to make Destiny. Halo: Reach is a part of the Halo: The Master Chief Collection. This collection includes Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo 4, and Halo: Reach. However, PC players can only play Halo: Reach, while the other games in the collection will release later.
You can get all of the games that are in Halo: The Master Chief Collection for $40, or you can just get Halo: Reach for $10, which is available on PC right now. Any platform that you play the game on, you are required to have an Xbox Live account to play multiplayer.
In addition to the release of the game, a current developer over at 343 Industries wrote on the game’s subreddit where they revealed that they are working on modding and that it will be available
Hi! We’re still working to improve this down the road, but for now you will have an option when you launch to bypass anticheat. This will allow you to play around with campaign and customs but not allow you to play any match made games. I highly suggest making a copy/backup of anything you modify so you’ll be able to switch back and forth easily.
This is the first Halo game that is being sold via the Steam store, and the first time since Halo: Reach has made its way to PC. It only gets better as more games in the collection will release over the course of next year.
