Transporting players to the vibrant city of modern-day Jakarta, Afterlove EP delves into the life of Rama, a young musician grappling with the sudden loss of his girlfriend, Cinta. As Rama navigates the tumultuous aftermath of grief, players will witness his journey of self-discovery, healing, and the power of love. With Cinta’s voice echoing in his mind, Rama must confront his past, finish his debut EP, and possibly find a new path forward.
Blending elements of dating sims, rhythm games, and narrative adventures, Afterlove EP offers a slice-of-life experience like no other. Players will immerse themselves in the rich Indonesian culture, explore authentic Jakarta locations, forge friendships, and make pivotal decisions that shape Rama’s story.
The game’s visual narrative is brought to life through stunning manga-inspired art by the renowned Indonesian artist Soyatu. Hand-drawn character designs and meticulously crafted cultural landmarks capture the essence of Jakarta’s bustling streets, adding depth and authenticity to Rama’s journey.
One of the standout features of Afterlove EP is its emotionally charged original soundtrack, courtesy of indie band L’alphalpha. Featuring songs performed in Indonesian with English translations, the soundtrack complements the game’s narrative, enhancing the overall experience for players.
The creation of Afterlove EP is a testament to the vision of Mohammad Fahmi, the mind behind the beloved Coffee Talk series. Fahmi’s passing in 2022 inspired the Pikselnesia team to carry on his legacy and fulfill his dream for the game. With an all-Indonesian team dedicated to showcasing their country’s unique culture and talent, Afterlove EP is a heartfelt tribute to Fahmi’s work and a celebration of Indonesia’s creative spirit.
