Developer Spoonful of Wonder and publisher Neverland Entertainment have announced the PC Steam launch of their brand-new title Copycat. Copycat is now available on PC via Steam and it invites you to explore a unique narrative about companionship, loss, and the quest for belonging. Copycat tells the story of Dawn, a newly adopted shelter cat who finds her place in a loving home disrupted by a cunning stray. This jealous interloper steals Dawn’s identity, leaving her to navigate the perilous journey of reclaiming her spot in the household.

What begins as a seemingly simple tale of a cat trying to return home quickly reveals itself to be a much deeper exploration of themes such as abandonment, identity, and the meaning of family. You will guide Dawn through various environments, from shadowy alleyways and bustling rooftops to a cozy family house, each scene rich with the emotions and challenges of her quest.

The game’s creators, Kostia and Samantha from Spoonful of Wonder, expressed their excitement about the release. “We are so humbled to bring Copycat into the world! We wanted to create a game that portrays the complex and nuanced experience of cat ownership and explores the themes of loss and home. We’re grateful for the heartfelt feedback from you and early reviewers,” they shared.

Key features of Copycat include its intuitive cat-like controls, allowing you to embody the spirit of a feline by climbing trees, fighting off dogs, and exploring the neighborhood from a cat’s perspective. The game’s narrative is further enriched by a nature documentary-style narrator, who provides insight into the protagonist’s actions, adding a thoughtful and occasionally humorous layer to the gameplay. The story, which unfolds over three hours, is voiced by a talented cast, enhancing the game’s emotional impact.
