Breeding Pen in Hogwarts Legacy lets you breed endangered species in your Vivarium. Breeding lets you increase the number of beasts, giving you more valuable materials in return. This Hogwarts Legacy Breeding Pen Guide will show you how to get a Breeding Pen and how to use it.
Hogwarts Legacy Breeding Pen Guide
Before you can use a Breeding Pen, you will need access to the Vivarium. Fortunately, you can get that early in the game, even though the Breeding Pen will be available later as you progress. To unlock a Breeding Pen, you have to talk to Deek and complete the third side quest given to you by this character called “Foal of the Dead.”
This quest is where you will get familiar with the Breeding Pen, where you first have to catch two Thestrals using a Nab-Sack. Once you have completed this quest, go to the Tomes and Scrolls shop in Hogsmeade and get the conjuring spell for the Breeding Pen. This is also one of the objectives for the side quest, and it will require you to spend 1,000 Galleons to purchase the Breeding Pen.
How to Use Breeding Pen
To use a Breeding Pen, place it by approaching and pressing the SQUARE or A button( depending on the console you are playing on). With the Breeding Pen in place, you can now look at the Beasts that you have caught with your Nab-Sack. Select the Beast that you want to breed in the Breeding Pen and place them in it.
You can only have 4 species breeding in the Breeding Pen at the same time. Producing offspring will take around 30 minutes before the number of species multiplies. Breeding Pen allows you to breed species and then sell them off at Brood and Peck. As you make more Galleons, you can purchase more pens and increase the number of beasts that you want to breed, giving you more money in return.
