Deep Cuts

Well-known publisher tinyBuild and developer Scythe Dev Team, renowned for their success with Happy’s Humble Burger Farm, have announced their latest horror VR adventure, Deep Cuts, during the UploadVR Showcase. Set to debut later this year on Meta Quest, with Steam VR and PSVR 2 support slated for 2025, Deep Cuts promises a unique blend of cinematic horror and interactive gameplay.

In Deep Cuts, players will immerse themselves in a thrilling VR rescue mission, exploring highly interactive worlds with messy physics-based action, a hair-raising atmosphere, and a rich narrative. The game’s official reveal trailer on YouTube offers a glimpse into the intense and immersive experience that awaits. Check it out:

The story centers around filmmaker Elise Weber and her creative partner Malcolm Micheaux, whose villainous cartoon creations have gone rogue. As Elise, players must navigate the Lights Camera Faction studio to save Malcolm, entering a series of blockbuster worlds inspired by the duo’s film catalog. Accompanied by Bowie, the only sane cartoon character left, Elise will face various challenges across different movie sets.

Players will dive into the heart of cinematic worlds, each offering a unique theme and set of challenges. Survive the ‘80s horror-inspired “Forsaken Festival,” fend off creatures in the ‘70s space thriller “Origin Drill,” or explore the Wild West in “Bastard Town.” Each environment is filled with interactable objects, from boom mics used as improvised weapons to prop machine guns and hidden lore secrets. Players will solve intricate puzzles with the help of time manipulation abilities and embrace the ultimate power of a Film Director.
