Gholdengo is a Pokémon that evolves from a Gimmighoul in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This means that you are likely to first catch a Gimmighoul before you can evolve it further. This guide will show you how to evolve find a Gimmighoul and then evolve it into a Gholdengo.
How to Get Gholdengo in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Gimmighoul is a Pokémon that will require you to find it hiding inside chests. This is because, unlike other Pokémon that can be found wandering about in the wild, a Gimmighoul can be found inside chests all through the region of Paldea. These chests can be found on watchtowers or in ruins all in the Paldea region.
When you do find one inside a chest, a small battle will ensue where you can then catch it after defeating the Gimmighoul.
How to Evolve a Gimmighoul into a Gholdengo
The only way you can evolve a Gimmighoul into a Gholdengo is by using 999 Gimmighoul Coins. This is the in-game currency that will require you to use it to evolve your Pokémon. Different Pokémon in the game require different conditions to evolve. So for Coin Chest Pokémon, you will need to have enough Coins to evolve a Gimmighoul to a Gholdengo.
In your adventure, you will also run into Wandering Form Gimmighoul. These Pokémon can only be interacted with to get you some Gimmighoul Coins, but cannot be caught for you to add to your Pokedex, or if you are thinking of evolving them further.
