HyperX, the gaming peripherals department of HP, has announced and revealed HX3D, an exciting new program to allow gamers to customize their gaming gear. The technology was revealed at HX3D, and it allows players to customize their favorite gaming gear using HP’s best-in-class 3D printing technology. At CES 2023, HyperX also showcased different examples of personalized keyboards, headsets, mice, and other gaming products showing the true potential of its new HX3D technology.
The first planned series of 3D printed peripheral upgrades are limited edition custom keycaps1, designed to fit on HyperX and most other mechanical gaming keyboards and they will be available to consumers over the coming months. Daniel Kelley, global head of marketing, HyperX detailed:
We know gamers love customization, spending a lot of time and effort to update all kinds of in-game items, from characters to skins to weapons and beyond. HX3D is taking this love of personalizing a gaming experience to the physical world and enabling a wide range of fun ways to update and customize our award-winning HyperX gear.
HyperX also announced that it will collaborate with game developers, eSports teams, content creators, influencers, and internal creative teams to create and design fan-friendly products that can be used while gaming or just collected as keepsakes or cherished collectibles. During CES 2023, HyperX showcased its first limited edition custom keycap based on a unique HyperX Cozy Cat design developed by HyperX. Fans were also given a chance to vote for future developments. The new HX3D products are printed on HP Inc. 3D printers, levering their experience, and bringing synergy, innovation, and color printing skills to gaming.
All of the HX3D products are created by using environmentally friendly re-used power nylon. HyperX has plans for additional keycap drops throughout the year and design collaborations are also planned with creators, influencers, ambassadors, and other celebrity and non-endemic partners. The new HyperX HX3D Cozy Cat Keycap will be available across the USA through the official website of HyperX in January 2023, and it will cost $19.99. It will only be available for 48 hours or until stocks last. Apart from the official website, it will be stocked at select retailers however the prices may vary at these retailers.
