Intel’s new NUC 11 Extreme is launching soon and it will feature the new Intel 11th Gen Tiger Lake H CPUs and also the Xe GPUs. The Intel NUC 11 Extreme will contain the 11th Gen Tiger Lake CPUs and a Xe graphics chip, all within a singular chassis design. It will replace the NUC 9 Extreme which came into the market in early 2020.

The biggest change from NUC 9 Extreme to NUC 11 Extreme is the 11th Gen Tiger Lake CPUs which replace the 9th Gen Coffee Lake CPUs. The NUC 11 Extreme will come in three different CPU configurations. The base model will feature the Core i5-11000H which can be upgraded to Core i7-11000H and Core i9-11000H CPUs.

All of these CPUs are mobile chips and have a 45W TDP. Coming to the graphics, the NUC 11 Extreme will be powered by the onboard Intel Xe GPU featuring 21 EUs which totals to 256 cores. Core clocks are not currently known.

The Compute Element will also be integrated into a 5L chassis, similar to the Ghost Canyon (NUC 9 Extreme) so we can expect Intel to feature its own and allow for 3rd party discrete graphics solutions from NVIDIA and AMD.

Coming to the details of the specifications, the Intel NUC 11 Extreme has support for up to 64 GB dual-channel DDR4-3200 MHz memory. There are 3 M.2 Key M slots, one of which is Gen4 NVMe. The NUC 11 Extreme also Optane SSD and Optane Memory (M10 / H10) ready.

As for I/O, there is 1 HDMI 2.0b output, 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports, support for triple 4K displays via Intel UHD graphics, WiFi6 AX210 and BT 5.0, 6 USB 3.1 Gen 2 (Type-A) ports, a 7.1 channel HD audio (via DP/HDMI), 2 USB 3.1 + 2 USB 2.0 front panel headers.

The NUC 11 Extreme is powered by single 8-pin power. The design is similar to the NUC 9 Extreme’s dual-slot design and a single blower-type fan. There is no launch date known for the NUC 11 Extreme so we will have to wait for that information.
