The World Serpent Arrives in Smite, Jormungandr Joins the Roster

Jormungandr or more commonly known as The World Serpent is the newest god to arrive in Smite. Smite pits gods against each other and who would be the perfect entry for it other than the biggest god in existence, Jormungandr.

Jormungandr is a very important god in the Norse Mythology and since the MOBA features a lot of Norse gods, Jormungandr is the perfect new entry for the title. It holds a very important place in the mythology and it is believed to be the only god powerful enough to take on Thor. When it comes to size, Jormungandr is huge and probably this is why it is one of the most intimidating characters in Smite as well. Smite is played in third-person view and seeing a giant snake leap out of the ground on you can certainly make your turn around and run away for your life.

Hi-Rez Studios released a new video showcasing Jormungandr in action which also reveals his abilities and they are exactly what you expect from a giant god. Jormungandr is a ranged fighter who deals magical damage and is an excellent guardian. His attacks deal massive damage and you can easily chase after escaping enemies with it.

As you can see in the trailer above that Jormungandr is all about causing pain to your enemies. You can spit poison on enemies, create noxious clouds and leap out of ground to catch escaping enemies. If you decide to make him your primary god and learn his every move and strategy, you will have one of most powerful gods in SMITE.
