Beginner’s Guide – Jump Force

Our Jump Force Beginner’s Guide will ensure that you are up to speed with all basic mechanics of Jump Force in not time along with sharing some important tips and tricks on mastering the game.

Choose Any Team

When you start your game the first time, you will be presented with an option to choose a team. The options given to you include Alpha, Beta and Gamma. You can pick any team from this list and still play the complete story of the game in the same manner. You will interact will all characters in the same way and complete missions with all characters so you do not have to worry about anything.

Master Dodge and Counter Early

Dodging and countering attacks are two very helpful mechanics in the game and you must master both of them quickly. If you want to counter an attack, simply press guard right before an attack connects or use a Ruch Attack right after getting hit by an attack to quickly land a counter attack.

Similarly, you can dodge out of harm’s way early by dodging away from the attacks. The most useful dodge is dodging backwards which can be performed by holding back on the joystick and then pressing guard button. You character will dodge backwards which is a very essential tool to survive longer in the game.

After performing a backwards dodge, you can quickly come back for a punisher as your enemy will be recovering from their last attack so always use this window to land a sweet punisher back at them.

I highly recommend that you specifically go to the training area and practice both countering and dodging because once you start using them in your fights, you will quickly see the difference in results.

Opt for Better Skill Sets and J-Skills

When your avatar is made at the start of the game, it will come with a starter set of abilities. Although you may be able to complete the whole main story with these starting abilities, it is highly recommended that you opt for better skills later on in the game.

As you complete story missions, you will get access to better skills in the game. When you unlock new skills, head to the skills menu and switch out for better skills. Mix and match skills to create the best skill sets and create the ultimate fighter in the game.

You must also complete Free Missions from the Missions Desk and complete as many of them to get new J-Skills. If you want to check which J-Skill is up for grabs, press Toggle View in the Missions Desk to see the reward. If the skill is to your liking, complete the mission and equip your brand new skill.

Use Awakening Abilities Effectively

As you play matches, you will build up your Awakening meter which will allow you to unleash powerful Awakening abilities. We recommend that you try to use them as early in the matches so that you can build them again for the next round. If the match is nearing the end, save your meter for the next round and use it at the start to begin the round strong.

Combine Your Attacks Together

Although each attack might seem solo or you might not know about it but you can create combos in Jump Force as well. Try to link together attacks and specials to keep the damage going on your enemies. You will need to practice a bit with each character to try out their moves and try to link them together with each other.

Use the Training Ring

Jump Force comes with a training ring for a reason. The game has many features and mechanics in place that are not typically found in most traditional fighting games. Head to the training ring, pick up your favorite fighter and learn all of its moves there. Learn how to chain together combos and specials.

Learn how to perform counters at the right time and how to maximize the effectiveness of back dodge to avail the attack window as quickly as possible. The learning curve of Jump Force is not high but if you really want an edge on your opponent, you will need to practice a bit and learn some advanced combat moves and mechanics.
