Kingdom Hearts III Epilogue will be Coming in Day One Launch Patch

Kingdom Hearts 3 Epilogue

Square Enix has announced that Kingdom Hearts III will come with a day one launch patch that will include an epilogue and a secret video. This means that players cannot be able to watch the epilogue and the secret video without an internet connection.

This suggest that the epilogue does not ship with the game that is out on 25 January in Japan, and 29 January worldwide. Square Enix shared the information on Twitter where post launch updates were also announced.

The videos are being dropped in updates in an effort to protect players from story spoilers. According to Tetsuya Nomura, who is the series director, the epilogue and secret move represent “the biggest spoilers” in Kingdom Hearts III.

Square Enix has three updates planned for Kingdom Hearts III during the launch week. These three updates will add video content that will provide backstory of the series so far. Here is how to updates will roll out:

Tuesday, January 29: Update 1.01 (several data fixes) Memory Archive (videos) “The Memory Archive option will be added to the game’s title menu and can be viewed at any time.

*The Memory Archive is a digest of the Kingdom Hearts story in the series up to this point.”

Wednesday, January 30: Epilogue (video) “Players will need to have completed Kingdom Hearts III and seen the ending to view this video.”

Thursday, January 31: Secret (video) “Players will need to have completed Kingdom Hearts III and seen the ending, as well as fulfilled certain criteria during play to view this video. The criteria vary depending on the difficulty level selected.”

The epilogue and secret movie are video content that will enhance player’s enjoyment of the world of Kingdom Hearts. These pieces of downloadable content are additional elements for Kingdom Hearts III. The main game allows players to proceed to and view the ending without the need for an internet connection.

Kingdom Hearts III launches on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 29 January worldwide. post your comments below.
