Nintendo Delays Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sequel Into 2023

Breath of the Wild Sequel

Nintendo has delayed the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel into 2023. It was originally slated for release in 2022 however no confirmed release date or release window was announced from the start. The announcement was made by Nintendo in a video where producer Eiji Aonuma detailed that the studio required more time to work on the title due to its massive scale.

The original Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was a huge title on its own and now Nintendo is aiming to create it even bigger by not just giving us a ground-based map but also a world that is as alive in the sky as it is on the ground. This is the reason why the development is taking its sweet time to make sure that the experience is as smooth as the original Zelda. Along with the skies, the game will also include new gameplay elements and encounters.

Nintendo revealed a detailed look at the gameplay during E3 2021 and how skies will fit in the world of Zelda however there is still tons of information kept in the secret. We still do not know the name of the sequel and Nintendo still refers to it officially as The Sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. We are still behind information on the title, but we now have a release window of Spring 2023 for the title.

The sequel will follow Link on his brand-new adventure and the game will feature the skies above Hyrule as well as the ground. It will feature a massive open world for you to explore and tons of things to find. It will follow the same RPG formula while expanding on every aspect. This is a really massive project which is one of the reasons why Nintendo keeps delaying it in order to complete work on the title.
