LEGO is Rumored to be Releasing a $250 Nintendo NES Set

LEGO Nintendo NES

LEGO is known for creating some of the best brick sets for all ages and they have taken over different franchises for quite some with their exclusive sets. However, this brand new report is nothing like we’ve seen before as according to a Chinese website Vgamer, LEGO and Nintendo are teaming up to release a special Nintendo NES console set which was one of the best home consoles back in the 1980s. This is the very first time that LEGO is releasing an official LEGO video game set.

The report has been further confirmed by a German publication PromoBricks who also detailed what is actually included on the set along with some pictures. The LEGO Nintendo NES set will set you back $250 however it will come with 2,646 pieces. It is slated for release next month in August and it will consist of a 1:1 brick replica of the NES console, the NES controller, a game cartridge along with a television set from the 1980s that will have Super Mario Bros on its screen.

While the $250 price is certainly not cheap, however, the set looks authentic and I am sure that it will attract a lot of video game fans from around the world. Further details have not been announced as of yet about whether this will be a limited edition run set or a traditional set. If this is a limited edition run, chances are that it will run out of stock quickly and the prices will sky-rocket pretty quickly since demand will be pretty high for the set.

This rumor can be considered confirmed since LEGO teased the set a few days ago as well on their official Twitter account. We just have to wait for the official announcement.

We also have some pictures of the LEGO Nintendo set. Check them out below.
