Created by a solo developer Ares Dragonis and self-published under Dragonis Games, The Shore is a first-person story-driven horror game inspired by H.P. Lovecraft. The lone developer behind this unique horror game is Ares Dragonis and the game initially started as a side project however with time, it has expanded into a vast universe dedicated to the Lovecraftian Mythos. The game features a very beautiful art style that almost looks like it is real life and because of this, the game absolutely looks gorgeous in terms of visuals.
Sticking true to the nature of horror inspired by the work of H.P. Lovecraft, The Shore will make you question your sanity at times as you struggle to survive an unknown world that features strong elements of horror. As you explore this world, you will encounter mysterious creatures and unravel the secrets behind them. The game features many of the creatures that we are accustomed to seeing in Lovecraftian horror. You step into the shoes of Andrew who has arrived on this island in order to save his daughter’s life and uncover the secrets within his own sanity as well.
As you explore the island and dig deeper into the mystery, you will start to face overwhelming odds and Andrew’s moments that will make you question your own sanity and a series of slow-burn scenes. The Shore offers a dramatic atmospheric, deep, and multilayered story and exceptionally tense and horrific combat sequences that will provide you will an overwhelming and stunning experience. The Shore was released on PC via Steam back in February 2021 and since its release, it has secured Mostly Positive reviews.
