Nintendo just showed a gameplay trailer of the upcoming Luigi’s Mansion 3 for the Nintendo Switch. The company detailed the demo with Luigi’s Poltergust Vacuum cleaner and abilities, and how Luigi has to deal with the ghost-infested mansion
In the game story, Luigi has been invited to stay in a hotel alongside his friends Mario, Peach, and co. But unfortunately, the hotel is not what it seems to be and things have taken a dark turn when he arrives. The hotel is now taken over by ghosts that refuse to check out and are not exactly friendly.
Take a look at the gameplay trailer below:
The gameplay trailer shows Luigi in a beautiful but dark and haunted mansion where he sneaks around fighting ghosts and searching his friends. From the moment you start the game, you will be given a handful of abilities including your doppelganger Gooigi. This is a jelly version of Luigi that can traverse through inaccessible spots and works together with Luigi to help him out. Gooigi can walk through spikes and fences.
Nintendo also states that Gooigi can be played by a second person by turning the game int a co-op adventure. In addition, the game will also feature online co-op modes with multiple Luigis. Luigi’s Mansion 3 will have a local cooperative multiplayer called “ScareScraper,” in which you have to defeat ghosts, and race to find toads, face new challenges and clear as many floors you can before the time runs out.
Talking about his Luigi’s Poltergust vacuum cleaner, it can stun ghosts, and also slam enemies to cause area-of-effect damage. There is also a suction shot that allows you to destroy nearby furniture, and a burst shot that pushes all the nearby ghosts away, giving you some breathing space.
A release date has still not been announced, but Nintendo does confirm that the game would be available sometime this year in 2019.
