How to Defeat King Boo
The battle with King Boo comes in three phases. Each of the phase brings out an additional clone of the boss that presents more danger to Luigi. King Boo depends on his various types of attacks that can overwhelm you as he begins to bring out more versions of himself.
King Boo has a variety of attacks, where most of his attacks are projectile-based attacks. King Boo will throw flaming balls and spikey balls that will both hurt you and explode after a little while. Additionally, he also likes to jump on the stage and stomp at your location. Another couple of attacks he performs are with his tongue. The first is where he slams his tongue straight in front, while he also performs a tongue sweep from one corner to the other.
You can only deal damage to King Boo by stunning him and then using your vacuum to slam him around. It is the same as your basic attack where you grab and then slam enemies around. So to deal with the damage, you have to wait until King Boo releases the spikey balls that contain bombs. Pick up a bomb and then launch it into King Boo’s mouth when his mouth is open. This will stun him and you can then summon Gooigi and attach both vacuums to the tongue to slam King Boo around.
After each time you stun and slam him, a new phase of the battle will begin. In the second phase, King Boo appears with two versions of himself and comes with a set of new attacks. Your task is the same here as well, which is to throw the bomb in his mouth, stun him, and then slam him around with Gooigi.
The third and final phase of the fight brings out an additional King Boo, bringing the total to three enemies. All of the enemies will be shooting projectiles, slamming on the ground, producing tongue attacks. Your job again is to find an opportunity to throw a bomb. Since this is the last phase of the fight, stunning him and then slamming his body will end the fight for good.
