Sony has just released a new developer diary video of MediEvil where the members of the Other Ocean Interactive talked about how they are working on the remake of the game for the PlayStation 4 prior to its release in October this year. The video takes us behind the scenes where we also see the gameplay of MediEvil and how it will look on the PS4.
The video diary featured the CCO of Other Ocean, Mike Mika and the executive produced Jeff Nachbauer. The two talked about how the team wanted to remake the game for the PlayStation 4, and that the team wanted to create the game exactly how the players remember playing it back in the days. The developers have also been talking with some of the original team of the game.
Our credo was ‘Do what they did, and don’t change anything unless you have a good reason to change it. Often times you’d go in the code, see a strange design decision and think ‘Why did they do that? It doesn’t make a lot of sense.’ And then you go on the journey of trying to solve challenges further in the game and ultimately release – ‘That’s exactly why they did it. I get it now
The gameplay footage of the game was the first-ever display of what to expect in the game, even though the release date is not so far away. Since the developers have created it to look more like the classic PlayStation 1 game, it still looks good while keeping the classic game vibes.
You can also get hands-on gameplay of MediEvil next week on August 20 at Gamescom. MediEvil is going to launch exclusively for the PlayStation 4 and will be releasing on October 25. You can get a copy of the game for $29.99.
