In collaboration with developer RainyGames, Merge Games has announced the platforms for their highly anticipated farming and life simulation game, SunnySide. Set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, SunnySide offers players a unique blend of farming, relationship-building, and exploration in a charming Japanese town both on PC and consoles.
With a vibrant anime-inspired cast of characters, modern gameplay mechanics, and a cozy turn-based combat system, SunnySide aims to redefine the farming simulation genre. Players will have the opportunity to grow over a hundred different crops and interact with more than 25 unique characters, each with their own stories and personalities.
The game’s hang-out system allows players to seamlessly balance cultivating relationships with managing their farm, providing a dynamic and immersive experience. Set in a diverse Japanese town, SunnySide features a compelling narrative waiting to be uncovered as players delve deeper into the game.

In addition to announcing the platforms, RainyGames debuted the title track from the SunnySide OST, titled “Watch This Garden Grow.” Written and performed by Matthew Payne Thompson, also known as JellyFox, the animated music video captures the essence of the game’s warm and nostalgic atmosphere. Players will embark on a journey to create their own homestead in the Japanese countryside, using modern technology to balance farm life with community engagement. With a focus on individuality, players can customize their avatar, homestead, and in-game cell phone to reflect their preferences and desires.
As players immerse themselves in the community of SunnySide, they will uncover mysteries lurking beneath the peaceful town. Tasked with helping a sassy survey drone named Sparky retrieve its lost memories, players will explore mysterious caves and engage in cozy card-based battles.
