Metro Exodus is set to receive its second and final DLC expansion next month on February 11. 4A Games has confirmed the release date of the expansion along with a few details about the content.
The second DLC is called Sam’s Story and it will be available on all the platforms that the game is available on. This includes the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and even Google Stadia. There has been no confirmation about the price of the DLC, but considering that the last DLC was priced at $8, Sam’s Story will be somewhere around that figure as well.
4A Games also provided some information about the DLC, adding that players will have full control as Sam, a well-known character from the previous games. As the title suggests, players will find out the story of this American’s journey and how he found himself stuck in Russia shown in the game. The information also reveals that though he has survived for several years in post-apocalyptic Russia, he yearns to return home to his family.
Sam makes his way away from the Aurora in search of a way back to the USA, arriving at the remains of Vladivostok’s tsunami-ravaged harbours, ruined industrial buildings, and crumbling residential districts. To complete his journey, Sam will discover that he needs every tactic he has learned so far to survive, as his surroundings prove to be far trickier than expected.”
In this additional sandbox survival level, players of Metro Exodus experience another gripping story with new characters, weapons and mutant variants in a huge, non-linear environment that offers numerous hours of immersive gameplay.
4A Games also added that the story of the DLC will take place in the port city of Vladivostok, hinting that Sam will try to find a way to get back to America via a ship. We also know that the city of Vladivostok is in similar ruins as any other city portrayed in the game, while also adding that it has Tsunami ravaged harbors, ruined industrial buildings, and crumbling residential districts. Which is safe to say that Sam is going to find a lot of challenges before he can leave for America.
If you are interested in playing the final expansion of the game, which arrives in less than two weeks, you first need to own a copy of the game along with the Metro Exodus Expansion Pass which will cost you $25. It is highly likely that the expansion will be sold separately for a different price, however, it has not been officially confirmed yet. We will get some confirmation as we get close to the launch date of Sam’s story.
