Publisher MicroProse and developer Hexdraw have announced the release date of its new tactical strategy game Second Front. Second Front is a deep strategy game that comes from a developer with extensive passion and experience with realistic and tactical tabletop board games. Second Front is a war tactics game with immense depth and breadth for war enthusiasts. It boasts an authentic depiction of World War II tactics and strategy. You can check out Second Front in action in the new release date announcement trailer:
In Second Front, you will be using authentic World War II tactics and strategies to win the war against your enemies. Different tactics, like suppressing the enemy with superior firepower, laying down smoke cover, or calling in artillery to keep the enemy’s heads down, play a vital role in the game and you will be required to use them effectively in order to win. Your enemies will be heavily fortified so charging heads first into them with your infantry and vehicles will not always work and this is where tactics come into play.
This adds an extra layer of realism and challenge to the game so that you can effectively use all of the resources available to you in order to win the battles with minimum losses. As you play through various missions, every objective and scenario will present its own set of unique challenges and opportunities. It will be up to you to carefully understand the battlefield and exercise the best possible way to defeat your enemies. The game gets an infinite life and replayability value thanks to custom map support and scenario editors.
In Second Front, you can craft your very own maps and scenarios and then share them with players around the globe. You can also browse and play maps and scenarios created by other players. Based on the emergent technology, the AI of Second Front is a formidable opponent that is built to keep you on your toes. The AI system can understand the player’s skill level and adapt accordingly in order to provide a challenging fit for them. It will also try its best to exploit the player’s weaknesses.

- Second Front features 48 epic scenarios set in iconic locations of World War II, including the Stalingrad Factory District, Borisov (USSR), and Korostychiv (UKR).
- Craft your own treacherous maps and scenarios in the integrated scenario and map editor. Then share with your allies on the steam community. Second Front is an infinite tactical sandbox experience.
