Indie developer Dinosaur Polo Club has announced its titles Mini Metro and Mini Motorways are celebrating their 10th Anniversary with exciting new content. Dubbed ‘Miniversary’, both titles Mini Metro and Mini Motorways are celebrating their 10th anniversary as the developer has revealed six crossover maps and new features releasing on Monday, July 24, 2023. Mini Motorways and Mini Metro are best-selling minimalist strategy traffic management titles, and both are getting an exciting new crossover for the celebrations.
Last month, the developer held a pole where the community cast their nominations from 30 iconic Mini Metro maps that they would love to see cross over into Mini Motorways. The voting led to four final titles coming out on top including London, New York City, Paris, and Hong Kong. The final vote ultimately led to the victory of New York City and now New York City is coming to Mini Motorways to join the roster of crossover maps coming to the game. However, fans will be happy to know that this is not the only thing coming to the game as part of the celebrations.
The developer has also announced a number of other surprises coming to the titles. In Mini Motorways, the cities of London and Mumbai will get a fresh coat of roundabouts and highways in Mini Motorways. Mini Metro will also get Tokyo, Warsaw, and Lisbon maps awaiting adaptable railway systems and offering fresh challenges. Along with this, Mini Motorways will also get another highly requested feature in its three new maps: trains. The new content will arrive at the same time in both games in July 2023 and still, the developer has a lot more planned for the games in the future as well.
Dinosaur Polo Club is celebrating its 10-year anniversary and the developer started its journey in the Mini franchise during a Ludum Dare Game Jam where Mini Metro was created in its first form back in 2013. The developer details that the latest community pole offered them an opportunity to reflect on the last decade of work alongside such passionate players. Mini Metro managed to become a BAFTA-nominated project and generated enough momentum for a sequel, Mini Motorways that reached the same level of critical acclaim and accolades such as the IndieCade Choice Award and the Independent Games Festival Audience Award in 2022.
