The mining performance of the upcoming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti has leaked out online which shows the GPU’s mining capabilities have been severely reduced thanks to the hash rate limiter introduced by NVIDIA in its refreshed lineup of LHR graphic cards.
NVIDIA recently announced in a blog post in which it confirmed that they are releasing new versions of the GeForce RTX 3080, 3070, and 3060 Ti graphics cards which will feature reduced hashing rates for crypto mining which help make them less desirable to GPU miners so that they end up in gaming systems instead of mining rigs.
The same is true for all the future NVIDIA graphics cards and the upcoming RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti will also feature reduced hash rates to sway away miners from buying them up. The mining performance of the RTX 3080 Ti has been leaked out by Kavka_Chow via Videocardz.

According to the leak, the RTX 3080 Ti has a hash rate of 58 MH/s on the Dagger Hashimoto. Comparing this to the last generation flagship the RTX 2080 Ti, it yields 49 MH/s and the non-limited RTX 3070 yields 96 MH/s. This is a huge reduction from its full hashing potential which would have been over 100 MH/s.

This means that NVIDIA’s hash rate limiter definitely works for the ETH based coins. This is good news for consumers who have been affected hard by the crypto mining scene and the GPU shortage. However, NVIDIA’s hash rate limited only stops Dagger Hashimoto, which is the algorithm favored by Ethereum based cryptocurrencies and tokens.
This is not the only proof of work algorithm out there and there are other varieties like KAWPOW, ZHASH, Octopus, BeamV3, CuckooCycle
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card is expected to ship with the new GA102-202 or GA102-302 GPU core features the same specifications as the QS but is locked for mining. RTX 3080 Ti will feature 12 GB of GDDR6X memory running at 19 Gbps. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti will be using a 384-bit bus interface which equals a total bandwidth of 912 GB/s.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is expected to feature an MSRP somewhere between 1000-1200 USD.
