SOEDESCO and Team Junkfish have announced that their survival horror game Monstrum is releasing on Nintendo Switch as well. Earlier, the title was only announced for Xbox One and PS4 but now the developer has confirmed that the game is coming out on Nintendo Switch as well. Nintendo’s flagship console will receive both a digital and a physical release.
In Monstrum, players jump into the shoes of a man stranded on a derelict cargo ship where he is hunted by a monster who will stop at nothing to kill him. The game features procedurally generated levels, permadeath, AI-driven predators and an ever-changing sinister environment that will keep even the masters of stealth on their toes. The random levels will ensure that no run in the game is the same as the previous one.
Monstrum is currently available on Steam and it was critically acclaimed by a large audience of gamers, YouTubers and streamers alike. It was also nominated for the Scottish BAFTA for ‘Best Game’ in 2015 and the TIGA award for ‘Best Debut Game’. Now this title is finally making its way to consoles and Nintendo Switch has joined the list of consoles now.

Key features of Monstrum include:
- Survive a different environment and monster each time you play
- Use whatever you can find to outwit the monsters and escape the ship
- Hide, distract and run, but be careful not to fall into the numerous traps
- Try to stay alive or you’ll have to start all over again
The game features a different number of predators and every time you will come against a new one. Each predator comes with its own personality which means that players will need a different strategy against different types of predators. Players will need to find the monster’s weakness and exploit it to survive the game in a procedurally-generating ship.
