Ori and the Blind Forest was a wonderful indie game and its sequel Ori and the Will of the Wisps is coming out next year. Both these wonderful titles are developed by Moon Studios and it looks like they have other plans as well.
In a recent statement to an Austrian podcast, CEO of Moon Studios, Thomas Maler, announced that they are going to announce something soon which is going to ‘surprise the whole industry’. He teased about this huge news but did not reveal much about what will it be about.
With this statement, we are open to all sorts of assumptions that what might be the announced that it is going to surprise the whole video game industry and not just a specific part of it. It could be that Microsoft is officially taking over Moon Studios.
It would not come as a big surprise because their first title Ori and the Blind Forest was a PC and Xbox One exclusive while their next title Ori and the Will of the Wisps is also coming out exclusively on Xbox One and PC.
Another assumption could be that Moon Studios will go multi-platform for their next title but it is very less likely to happen. It could also be that Moon Studios might be purchasing a famous IP to acquire and work on it. Chances are that Moon Studios is collaborating with another AAA studio and creating a new game or a hybrid game involving Ori.
It might be a hunch but given the studio size and if the developer announces, it will not be a shocking news for all that they are working on a new title. Possibilities of what could it really be are endless and we cannot wait for this ‘surprising’ news.
Thomas did not state when the news will be revealed to the world but we are hoping that it will not take too long since he mentioned that the news will come out soon. Moon Studios is currently busy on the development of their upcoming title Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Check out the game trailer below.
