Review: RiMS Racing

NACON and RaceWard Studio have officially revealed the gameplay of their upcoming motorcycle sim RiMS Racing. RiMS Racing is a brand-new motorcycle simulation game slated for release on August 19, 2021, and is currently in development at the Italian development studio RaceWard. The game aims to deliver an unparalleled experience by blending driving and mechanics, pushing the limits of realism and customization.

The new trailer reveals another officially licensed motorbike: the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory. This particular bike is the winner of 7 SBK World titles and it will join the previously revealed Ducati Panigale V4 R and MV Agusta F4. The bike is known for its aerodynamics and speed thanks to its integrated winglets and double-layered fairing. Its engine produces up to 217 horsepower making it one of the most powerful bikes by Aprilia.

The new trailer is set in Germany and Norway as it highlights two of the most iconic racing tracks in motorbike racing. The official Nurburgring circuit is one of the most difficult circuits in the world and it is featured in RiMS Racing as well. The second track featured in the trailer is the beautiful Atlantic Road which is located between the ocean and land. RiMS Racing will also feature the Driver’s HQ which will be the main hub for players where they will spend most of their time while they are not out on track racing.

RaceWard also details that riding style, racing conditions, and mechanical status of the components of the bike will have a direct impact on the motorbike’s behavior. The game offers a detailed customization section where players will be able to fully disassemble their motorbike and replace every element to achieve their desired setup. There are over 500 official components to choose from including tires, discs, calipers, pads, suspension, springs, air filters, exhausts, brake and clutch master cylinders, brake fluids, engine oils, ECUs, fairings, etc.

Different tools such as the Motorbike Status Check or MSC are available in the game which will help players in identifying the mechanical components that can be upgraded. It provides players a real-time analysis of their motorbike’s status and performance. Combining all of this together, RaceWard is gearing up for a potentially excellent motorbike sim.
