MSI Reveals GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Ventus 2X OC V1 with a Single 8-Pin Connector

Nvidia Production RTX 3060

MSI has unveiled a new RTX 3060 Ti variant called the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Ventus 2X OC V1 which is a budget 3060 Ti card option. This card is a changed version of the MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Ventus 2X OC with the biggest change being the smaller size and a single 8-pin power connector.

The MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Ventus 2X OC V1 will feature the GA104 GPU with 4864 CUDA cores. The card will have 8GB GDDR6 memory across a 256-bit interface. The difference is in the clock speeds as the Ventus 2X OC V1 series offers a 1695 MHz boost clock for the OC model and a TGP of 200W which is identical to the original.

The new Ventus V1 3060 Ti has the same specifications as the previous non-V1 card but there are also several differences as well. For starters, the Ventus 3060 Ti V1 series features only one 8-pin power connector compared to the original model’s two 8-pin power connectors. Another change that is much less noticeable is the thinner design. The card has been cut from a 2.2 slot design (52 mm) to a 2-slot design (42 mm).

The recommended PSU for the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Ventus 2X OC V1 is 650 W as listed on MSI’s official website. And with the RTX 3060 Ti currently being the most affordable card in the RTX 3000 series lineup, many people want to get their hands on it for their budget PC builds.

The RTX 3060 is also expected to be announced next week with more memory at 12GB, but fewer CUDA cores. As far as the GPU’s price and availability are concerned, there is no word from MSI currently so we will have to wait a bit for information regarding this. We can expect additional details on the upcoming CES 2021 where we are expecting to see a much bigger range of new GPUs to be revealed.
