MSI has launched its NVIDIA CMP 50HX mining graphics card and it is named as MSI NVIDIA CMP 50HX MINER. This is the 2nd CMP card released by MSI for its MINER series and the CMP 50HX MINER sits above the CMP 30HX MINER.

The MSI NVIDIA CMP 50 HX MINER mining card has a hash rate of up to 45 MH/s. The 50HX features 3,584 CUDA cores and 10GB of GDDR6 memory. The memory has a memory speed of 14 Gbps with a 320-bit memory interface. In terms of the clock speeds of the MSI NVIDIA CMP 50HX MINER, the mining card has a base clock of 1,350 MHz and a boost clock of 1,545 MHz.

Earlier it was leaked that the NVIDIA CMP 50HX features the Turing TU102-100 GPU die. The GPU die is likely a cut-down version or a version of the original GPU that powered the RTX 2000 series graphics card. The TU102 silicon has been used on models including the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti and more. The GPU die has not been confirmed so we’ll have to wait until the CMP 50HX gets inspected closely.

Coming to the design of the card, the MSI NVIDIA CMP 50HX MINER features a blower-style cooler using MSI’s AERO thermal design. The fan uses extremely durable double ball bearings to keep the card operating for a long time.

The fan pulls in cool air and exhausts it through the backplate. The card even has a custom PCB and a custom backplate. The TDP of the card is 225W and it requires dual 8-pin power connectors to power. The dimension of the card is 268 x 114 x 36mm.

NVIDIA first announced the CMP HX Mining GPUs earlier this year to tackle the use of gaming graphics cards in Mining.

Here is the full press release about NVIDIA CMP series:

“We are gamers, through and through. Yet NVIDIA GPUs are programmable. And users are constantly discovering new applications for them, from weather simulation and gene sequencing to deep learning and robotics. Mining cryptocurrency is one of them.

With the launch of GeForce RTX 3060 on Feb. 25, we’re taking an important step to help ensure GeForce GPUs end up in the hands of gamers.

RTX 3060 software drivers are designed to detect specific attributes of the Ethereum cryptocurrency mining algorithm, and limit the hash rate, or cryptocurrency mining efficiency, by around 50 percent.

To address the specific needs of Ethereum mining, we’re announcing the NVIDIA CMP, or, Cryptocurrency Mining Processor, product line for professional mining. CMP products — which don’t do graphics — are sold through authorized partners and optimized for the best mining performance and efficiency. CMP lacks display outputs, enabling improved airflow while mining so they can be more densely packed. CMPs also have a lower peak core voltage and frequency, which improves mining power efficiency.”

The MSI NVIDIA CMP 50HX MINER has not been formally announced and the pricing is unknown for now.
