Wandering Wizard, the indie publishing division of Snail Inc., in collaboration with developer New Gen, has announced the official release of the multiplayer social deduction game Zombie Within on Steam.
Zombie Within offers a unique blend of strategy and terror as players find themselves thrust into a post-apocalyptic world overrun by zombies. Within this chaotic landscape, Zombie Imposters have infiltrated a survivor camp, shielded by a team of Defenders, with the sinister objective of annihilating the population.

Following 72 hours of extensive testing by creators on platforms such as Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok, the game is now open to the public, inviting players to join their favorite content creators and select their allegiance. They can either defend humanity as a Defender or strategically embrace the darkness by assuming the role of an Impostor on a mission to eradicate the camp.
Key Features of Zombie Within include:
- Asymmetrical Social Deduction: Players can take on the role of either a Zombie Imposter, blending in among civilians to eliminate as many survivors as possible, or a Defender, tasked with uncovering the hidden zombies within the camp.
- Mayhem as the Zombie Imposter: Imposters must pose as civilians while sabotaging generators to spread infection. Once enough chaos ensues, they can transform into monstrous zombies to directly attack survivors.
- Camp Protection as a Defender: Defenders can assume the roles of Hunters or Engineers. Hunters specialize in eliminating zombie imposters and setting traps, while Engineers possess tools to quickly locate broken generators and expose imposters.
- Randomly Generated Maps: Players can engage in matches on either the default map or challenge themselves with randomly generated camp maps featuring different layouts and generator placements.
Zombie Within is now available on Steam with a 20% launch discount, priced at $7.99. Players are invited to dive into this gripping multiplayer experience, where every decision could mean the difference between survival and succumbing to the undead horde.
