Solo developer Made From Strings and publisher Dionous Games have released a new dev commentary walkthrough video for their upcoming murder mystery adventure, Murder On Space Station 52, set to launch on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch. In the video, creator Christopher Mathes guides viewers through the hand-drawn, sci-fi noir world of Space Station 52, introducing key mechanics such as an investigative murder board, point-and-click puzzles, and cosmetic unlockables that reward exploration.
In Murder On Space Station 52, players take on the role of Edward Locke, a new repairman who finds himself trapped on a peculiar space station with an assortment of even more peculiar inhabitants. Among them lurks a sinister presence, the Keychain Killer, who leaves a trail of dead bodies marked by keys in their wounds. As Edward, players must piece together clues, fill out a murder board with suspects, and draw connections to unmask the killer.

The game’s murder mystery investigation is rooted in classic adventure game mechanics, featuring engaging point-and-click puzzles that challenge players to think critically and explore thoroughly. Additionally, a modern twist comes in the form of an in-game currency system. As players explore the station, they earn currency that allows them to customize Edward’s apartment and fill an aquarium with an array of strange and curious creatures, adding a unique layer of personalization and immersion to the experience.
The newly released developer commentary video provides a deeper dive into the richly conceived world of Space Station 52, showcasing its rip-roaring blues-inspired soundtrack and a fully voiced cast of charismatic characters. The game’s announcement trailer offers a tantalizing glimpse of the atmosphere and intrigue that players can expect, setting the stage for a captivating narrative filled with twists and turns.
“Murder On Space Station 52 really is a labor of love,” said developer Christopher Mathes. “The art is hand-drawn, I’ve composed the soundtrack, and I’ve voiced most of the characters. All that work is going to be worth it when I see people getting wrapped up in the murder mystery waiting for them on Station 52! I can’t wait to be back soon to tell you more about exactly when you’ll be able to play it.”
Murder on Space Station 52 is slated for release on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG along with PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. A confirmed release date is not known at this point but if you are interested in playing the game when it comes out, you can head over to its official Steam page and add it to your wishlist. Additional details will be announced at a later date.
