NBA 2K21 The City Will Launch Exclusively for Next-Gen Consoles

2K Games has just announced NBA 2K21 The City, which will be exclusive to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The City brings a new map that will be many times larger than the Neighborhoods in previous titles.

The City features an overhauled design with a “modern metropolis, complete with towering skyscrapers, sprawling plazas, and a city center.” The announcement was made by the executive producer Erick Boenisch on the official NBA 2K website.

The City is our most ambitious execution of a virtual basketball community…ever. The sheer amount and variety of buildings and basketball courts that we were able to create and fit into the map still amazes me to this day!

The detailed post also talks about every core component in The City and how they function. Starting from Rookieville where you start your journey, Boroughs which are dedicated spaces in the North, South, East, and West sections of The City.

On the other hand, you have the Event Center, Garage Hoops, People of the City which gives you short tasks related to exploration, Pink Diamond Plaza, Gatorade Training Facility, Special Courts, and much more. 2K has certainly planned and executed a lot of content for the game, which although will only be available for next-gen consoles, but it goes to show where the developers are heading with their franchise in the future.

NBA 2K21 releases next week on November 10 on the Xbox Serie X and Xbox Series S. The PlayStation 5 version of the game releases 2 days later on November 12.
