Car customization has been one of the most important features in any Need for Speed game and EA has announced that Need for Speed Heat will come with the most diverse and open car customization mode ever featured in the franchise. After the initial reveal earlier this week, EA shared more details on the game such as the customization features during its Gamescom 2019 pre-show.
According to EA, Need for Speed Heat will allow players to tweak and tune their dream cars with more customization options than ever allowing them to create the perfect car to match their style. To start with, players will be able to choose a basic setup for their cars according to the build they want to have. They will be able to choose from Grip, Drift, Off-Road setups that will apply the required handling style to their cars.
Handling is one of the most important elements when it comes to specific racing disciplines as players will need to set up their cars properly for different events such as drifting or circuit racing. Drifting requires loose car control while making sure that the car responds well while switching sides and nailing those reverse entries. On the other hand, circuit racing demands exceptional grip and cornering speed.
For the first time in the franchise, players will be able to swap out their car engines to make them perfect for any scenario they like. If you want to complete the whole game with the slow car that you started the game with, you can switch out the motor with a more powerful one and make sure that it stays competitive throughout the game. It will certainly allow players to get more creative with their builds.
Players who risk everything at night will get access to exclusive gear. Racing during day time will award players with rewards as well however the real rewards are hiding in the shadows and only those who take it to the streets at night and emerge victoriously, will drive home with these exclusive rewards. Night events will give players the chance to win some real high-end parts for their cars but they must be dropped back at the garage before the cops bust them and seize the winnings.
Another new feature coming in Need for Speed Heat is the ability to have custom exhaust notes for your car. After dumping in a custom exhaust setup, players will be able to tune how their car sounds like with a special exhaust sound tuner mechanic in the game. The final sound will depend on the engine and the exhaust system but players will be able to fine-tune the sound to make it more appealing to them.
The visual customization system is also brand new in the game and will allow players to be very flexible when it comes to expressing themselves on their cars. The game will ship with a massive assortment of paint and finish options including Metal flake, Color flip, Carbon fiber, Iridescent materials, Gloss, satin and matte finishes. We are looking forward to some amazing visuals when the game comes out.
Last but not least, avatar customization has also made its way into the NFS franchise. Players will be able to customize how their character looks like in the game and change the look on the go depending on their mood. Custom avatars that can be modified and tweaked just like your car will be present in the game.
