Unannounced Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remaster Rated in Korea

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remaster

In a new development, the still-unannounced Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remaster was rated in Korea’s Games Rating and Administration Committee this month. This new listing further confirms that EA is working on the remaster of the 2010’s Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. The listing was spotted by VideoGamesChronicles.

While fans have been asking for a new Need for Speed Underground or the remaster of 2005’s Need for Speed: Most Wanted, the new Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit comes as a surprise. This particular Hot Pursuit title was developed by Criterion Games and was released for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 systems back in 2010. Hot Pursuit is a well-reputed name among the NFS franchise and some of the best titles don this title where players expect racing along with the intervention of the police.

The name Hot Pursuit was never given to any open-world titles and most titles having this particular title included players racing exotic cars in exotic locations while trying to avoid traps, blockades, and resistance laid down in the path by local law enforcement teams. The 2010 title was no different except for the matter that it was developed by Criterion Games, the developer behind the Burnout franchise.

Despite having a new developer working on the title, the game stuck to its roots and offered closed racetracks set in exotic locations and featured some of the best exotic cars that players can drive. The game also introduced some brand new mechanics into the game which were never seen in any of the previous Hot Pursuit titles such as using Autolog to connect players together. It offered two separate careers the police side as well as the racer side which is how Hot Pursuit titles of the past have been.

EA has not announced the title officially yet however with all the listings popping up, we can be sure that EA will announce the game pretty soon. We already knew that the next NFS title is being developed by Criterion Games however we still have to see whether the remaster is the only thing under work at Criterion or we might get to see a brand new NFS title coming out of their studios as well.
