Nerdystar has announced a $5.8 million investment for its LUXON Platform led by Blocore and this investment will help Nerdystar to develop and publish Web3 games. NerdyStar is a newly-formed investment company of game developer and publisher LINE Games, and its latest investment was led by BITKRAFT Ventures, FTX Ventures, GuildFi, Formless Capital, VistaLabs, Seum, and SBXG. Nerdystar will publish Web3 games on LUXON building on Polygon.
This is the second round of investment for LUXON and it follows an initial investment of $5 million from LINE Games and it brings the total funding to $11M. The investment will be used to continue to build the LUXON web platform and focus on game development. The very first title is slated for release later this year. Nerdrystar was formed by founders with over 10 years of experience and the company is now on a mission to build games where players earn ownership of the game while also enhancing the rights of gamers as providers, traders, and players.
LUXON is aiming to accelerate the Web3 transition for gamers and game developers by publishing high-quality blockchain games within a sustainable ecosystem and economy through its blockchain game platform. Games on LUXON will be based on the original IP owned by LINE Games in the Web2 gaming market. The platform will also support third-party titles however they will only be accepted after a successful launch of games based on the original IPs. Carlos Pereira, Principal at BITKRAFT Ventures said:

LUXON is currently creating games with significant NFT depth via collectible characters and other items. Their first title is called Desperado B218: The Scars of Exos and it is a turn-based battle royale RPG in which players control a squad of five characters. The game features a fantasy art style and is heavily inspired by anime and it will also ship with NFT-centric gameplay where players can acquire assets either from the publisher or from the marketplace to take different roles in the game.
With the game’s LXN Tokens, players can purchase or trade NFT game items that are generated by the user’s game activities. Nerdystar has scaled to over 100 developers and artists since its inception and most of the team are seasoned members who transitioned from OOZOO studios of LINE Games to focus on Web3 games.
