Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham have announced their new asymmetrical multiplayer horror title The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Gun Interactive is known for their previous horror experience Friday the 13th: The Game and their latest title is an authentic gaming experience based on the groundbreaking 1974 film. Check out the announcement trailer for the game below:

Ronnie Hobbs, Creative Director at Gun Interactive said:

It’s no secret that the original The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is probably my favorite horror film ever created. Having the chance to really dive into the world of this IP with the team from Gun and working with Sumo to bring this vision to life has been almost surreal. I can’t wait for everyone to see more of what we’re doing.

Darren Campion, Executive Producer at Sumo Nottingham further added:

We’re incredibly excited to finally reveal what we’ve been working on here at Sumo Nottingham. To be the first to truly bring the world of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre to life was an opportunity that could not be passed. The cult classic has been terrifying and spellbinding people for over 40 years, and we’re thrilled with how the game is developing, we cannot wait for fans old and new to become part of this truly authentic experience.

Sadly, at this time, there is not much to talk about the title since there are not many details announced for the game. However, we can expect it to be fairly similar to Friday the 13th: The Game where one player will take on the role of the killer while the rest of the players will need to escape the area. We will have to wait and see when additional details are revealed by Gun Interactive in the coming months.

Gun INteractive is known for creating some really cool asymmetrical horror titles and we are sure that the new title The Texas Chain Saw Massacre will be a solid one as well. The asytmmetrical horror genre has kickstarted once again and we are seeing some really good titles coming out in it. Multiple horror games designed around classic horror movies are choosing this particular genre because it not only makes for a great game but gives players a chance to experience both sides of the horror story.
