New Outward Developer Diary Emphasizes Importance of Backpack

Outward Beginner's Guide

Deep Silver and Nine Dots have revealed a new Developer Diary Wanderlust for their upcoming hardcore RPG Outward. In the latest video, the developers of the game reveal the importance of backpack in the game and how it will affect your gameplay. Other than that, the developers have also revealed the locations that players will visit while exploring the world of Outward.

The developers explain that they wanted to opt for a new direction while creating Outward because most of the RPGs in the industry follow a same pattern all over around. To make it unique, they decided to put more emphasize on backpacks and increase its importance and how using a backpack effects different activities in the game.

In Outward, players will not only need to watch out for their own basic needs but they will be required to manage their backpacks as well. Backpacks in Outward are of two different types. Bigger and heavier backpacks will allow players to keep more items with them at all times but they will make the player slower and less agile.

Lighter backpacks will allow players to have less storage space however they will be more agile in combat and they will be much faster to explore around the areas. While entering tight spaces, players will need to leave their backpacks and venture ahead with only basic supplies so that they are able to fight properly in battles.

The world of Outwarld is comprised of four unique regions and players will explore them with the help of a map, a compass and different landmarks scattered around the map. The game does not have any sort of guidance for them so players will need to become real-world explorers if they want to complete their objectives in the game.

Each area in the game has its own unique secrets to explore, unique creatures to slay and different obstacles to overcome. The weather will also play an important role in the game as winters will make enemies and terrain harsher to tackle. Players will need their best RPG skills to beat the challenges in Outward.

Outward is slated for release on PS4, Xbox One and PC on March 26, 2019.
