After much speculation and rumors, Sony has finally unveiled its Game Pass rival which is actually a new format for PS Plus. With the new format in place, PS Plus now has three tiers each offering different levels of subscription benefits. These include PS Plus Essential, PS Plus Extra, and PS Plus Premium.
The three tiers of PS Plus are now as follows:

PlayStation Plus Essential
- Benefits
- Provides the same benefits that PlayStation Plus members are getting today, such as:
- Two monthly downloadable games
- Exclusive discounts
- Cloud storage for saved games
- Online multiplayer access
- There are no changes for existing PlayStation Plus members in this tier.

- Time-limited game trials will also be offered in this tier, so customers can try select games before they buy.

Benefits from Essential and Extra tiers are also included. Local pricing will vary by market.
As cleared by Sony, markets where PS Now is not available at this point will have another form of PS Plus called PS Plus Deluxe which is lower in price and does not include PS Now in it. It will include only PS1, PS2, and PSP titles to download and play and since PS3 titles are streaming only, they will not be available in the PS Plus Deluxe subscription.
