New Thrilling Rush Mode Arrives in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

Gun Interactive has announced the launch of Rush Week, a thrilling new mode for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Available from September 26th for those with the Content Pass and from September 30th for everyone else, this fresh addition promises a chilling multiplayer experience inspired by the Giallo horror films of the late 1970s.

Rush Week shifts the focus to the infamous killer Johnny Slaughter, placing him against six sorority girls in a deadly game of cat and mouse. Unlike the base game, this mode introduces new escape routes and key items such as a wrench, knife, and pepper spray, which the sorority girls can use to protect themselves and attempt to escape Johnny’s clutches. You can choose to play as Johnny or one of the randomly assigned sorority girls, each with no perks, adding to the challenge and intensity of the game.

Check out the Rush Week Launch Week below:

The two-story Sorority House setting is filled with potential hiding spots, including a locked basement and an attic area with its own unique escape option. The house is designed for fast-paced gameplay, featuring multiple windows to jump from, ladders to climb, and a variety of items that can be used strategically. Sorority girls can use these objects to call the authorities, which triggers a brief period during which they must survive until rescue arrives. For those looking for a quick getaway, there’s an attic pole that allows a maximum of two of you to escape via a hatch. However, Johnny can break the ladder to this exit, adding another layer of tension and strategy.

Johnny’s role is straightforward: hunt and eliminate. Each successful execution makes him more powerful, enhancing his lethal abilities as the match progresses. A unique feature of Rush Week is the Fear system. Sorority girls with high levels of fear emit a scent that Johnny can track, making it crucial for you to complete objectives and manage their fear levels to stay hidden. If they fail to do so, Johnny’s heightened senses will make it nearly impossible to escape.

Rush Week was developed with the input and approval of Kim Henkel, the original screenwriter of the 1974 Texas Chain Saw Massacre film. Set several years after the events of the movie, this new mode expands the game’s narrative while remaining true to its roots, offering fans a fresh yet authentic experience within the terrifying world of Texas.

If you are eager to dive into this mode early can purchase the official Content Pass for $19.99 starting September 26th. This pass also includes Execution Pack 4, adding more content to the game. Additionally, all players who participate in Rush Week will unlock the exclusive Towel and Laundry Day cosmetics for free until the October patch, after which these items will be available for $1.99 each.
