Sony has announced that the next State of Play stream will take place this week and it will include MediEvil information along with a new game. The stream will feature an extended look at the MediEvil remake which is planned for PS4 and along with its information, Sony has also teased a new game which will be included in this State of Play as well.
The biggest announcements in the next State of Play stream is going to be MediEvil information and a new game announcement. MediEvil reboot was announced back in 2018 and fans of the series are really looking forward to the PS4 version of the PS1 classic. It is one of those long-forgotten franchises that no one thought would ever make a comeback.
Sony announced earlier that it will not participate in this year’s E3 and then later announced the brand new State of Play streams which Sony will hold throughout the year and all major announcements of 2019 will come through these streams. These are very similar to Nintendo’s Direct and Microsoft’s Inside Xbox streams however Sony wants to take them one step further by making them the primary source of information for 2019 for all announcements.

Sony has confirmed that the next State of Play will focus on video games strictly and no PS5 or next-gen console information will be revealed during it. Still, the prospect of a new game announcement is enough to keep us excited and we cannot wait to see which new game is going to get announced at this week’s State of Play.
Sony held its first State of Play stream in March and during this stream, the major announcements were the Iron Man VR, Five Nights at Freddy’s VR Help Wanted and No Man’s Sky Beyond. It was a pretty decent stream and it did show us some pretty good games planned for 2019 and beyond. This time around it seems like Sony is taking things up a notch and will bring better announcements to the table.
If Sony wants these streams to be a success, it will have to keep the standard high and must include a healthy amount of games in it. Nintendo’s Direct is always full of announcements and this is one of the reasons why Nintendo uses the Direct livestreams as its main source of announcements and reveals.
