Nira Early Access

Baseline Games has announced that their survival exploration game Nira is releasing tomorrow in Steam Early Access. A launch trailer was also released alongside the announcement that confirms the release.

The trailer also shows us a new set of features, including a questing system, merchants, and 4 player drop-in and drop-out coop. Baseline Games also adds in a feature of leveling and skills system.

Take a look at the launch trailer below:

On the Steam page, solo developer Baseline Games explains they chose to release in Early Access to be able to involve the community in the development process.

Nira has come a long way to get to Early Access, but there’s still a ton of room for improvement and expansion. I’ve chosen Early Access so I can get feedback and new ideas as I develop, and to define the direction for the future of Nira together with the players.

The fast-paced game is all about your survival and the resources you can manage to collect. When night falls in the game, various creatures arise. Your basic objective in the game is to gather resources, build a base, craft tools, and weapons, tame or hunt wild animals, and fight off goblins to find a way to Nira.

Here are some of the key features of the game:

  • Explore endless procedurally generated worlds full of resources
  • Build a base and craft weapons to defend yourself at night
  • Fight off goblins and riddle their ogre leaders with bullets
  • Survive nature: catch and cook food, and tame or hunt wild animals

The developers might also be looking for feedback to port the game on other platforms. For now, the game will only be available for players on PC.

Are you excited to play Nira? Post your comments below and let us know what you think of the features in the game.
