Hello Games has announced that No Man’s Sky is getting a companion update that will allow players to tame and keep wild animals as pets. As part of the new update, players can find any wild creature of their liking, tame them, bond with them, and keep them as pets which will also give them the option of breeding them. This will allow players to always have someone at their side while they are exploring planets and building their base instead of moving around all alone.
Once these wild animals are tamed, you will be able to feed them, play with them, and set out on adventures with them. A ‘neural harness’ will transmit your pet’s thoughts directly to your communication channels. These pets are not just useless mouths to feed in the game for you but once they are tamed, they will actually help you out in various tasks as well. They will scan for resources, dig up treasures, hunt other creatures, and even identify hazards so that you can avoid them.
Check out the reveal trailer for the new Companions update for No Man’s Sky:
As you can see in the trailer above, the update supports a large number of tamable creatures which will stay at their owner’s side, helping them out in various tasks. If you take good care of your pets, you will find collectible eggs that you can choose to hatch yourselves or trade with other players for their eggs. The update is now available for all players for free and you can head into the game right now to tame your very own pet in the game.
Hello Games is celebrating the fifth anniversary of No Man’s Sky this year and it just shows how much further the developer has come in terms of the game when it was launched. No Man’s Sky is one of the best titles that you can get today and all credit goes to Hello Games which actually delivered what they promised after the poor launch of the title.
