We previously mentioned the embargo will be lifted soon and official reviews for Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 and 2080Ti will be unveiled. Now that it is lifted, thanks to Videocardz we have performance index on Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 and 2080Ti.
We will show below the graphs comparing GTX 1080, GTX 1080Ti with RTX 2080 and 2080Ti. However, one thing must be noted that these test or reviews were taken in different conditions, from different systems and equipment on different games. So, take the graphical representation of benchmarking as a reference that how far the performance of RTX series will be better than GTX series.
Following reviews of games were done on system with specifications as: X299 Rampage VI Apex, Core i9-7900X 3.3 GHz, Corsair 16GB DDR4 (no frequency specified), Windows 10 (v1803), NVIDIA 411.38 drivers. All performance tests were done on 4K resolution only.
VideoCardz also provided the detailed information of graphics presets. Battlefield 1 ran on Ultra preset. Hitman ran on highest settings. Shadow of the Tomb raider on very high preset with TAA On. Star Wars Battlefront II ran on Ultra settings. These all games used DirectX 12 support.
Other games that used DirectX11 support are: Middle-earth: Shadow of War, The Witcher 3, PUBG, Rainbow Six Siege, Mass Effect: Andromeda all were tested on Ultra settings. While, F1 2018 was tested at ultra preset with TAA On with AF set at 16x.
Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus – Mein Leben preset. This game was only Vulkan Game.
Back at SIGGRAPH event, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang praised the potential of real-time ray tracing. He further said:
Hybrid rendering will change the industry, opening up amazing possibilities that enhance our lives with more beautiful designs, richer entertainment and more interactive experiences. The arrival of real-time ray tracing is the Holy Grail of our industry.
